A lot. Before tax reforms, our state was ranked 44th in the Tax Foundation’s State Business Tax Climate Index; since reforms we jumped to 14th. The package passed in 2013 included cuts for individuals and businesses, a simplified, more neutral tax system, and a stabilized revenue stream that better reflects North Carolina’s modern economy.
