Last summer, The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA) launched the Coding Arkansas’ Future initiative to expand computer science education and provide professional education opportunities, including mentorship for teachers. This spring, ASMSA was awarded a grant from Google’s CS4HS program offering an online course teachers can enroll in as learners for no cost.
“We are excited to work alongside Governor Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Education to share our two decades of experience in computer science education to build capacity in Arkansas teachers and spark innovation within students across the state,” said Corey Alderdice, ASMSA director.
