Gallup’s “State of the American Workplace” indicates paid vacation is a sought-after benefit; however, Project: Time Off says that in 2016, 662 million vacation days were left on the table, four million more than 2015.
You want to compete and retain top talent (look at that low unemployment rate), so it’s important to encourage employees to take time off. “Why on Earth would I do that?”
Simply put, happy employees are better employees. And, two in five (40%) employees in cultures that don’t support unplugging are looking or planning to look for a new job in the next year.
