CHI St. Vincent neurosurgeon receives international award

by
Dr. Ali Krisht

An Arkansas neurosurgeon recently received one of the medical field’s most prestigious honors. CHI St. Vincent’s Dr. Ali Krisht, director of the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, was named this year’s recipient of the Herbert Olivecrona Award for his contributions to the field of neurosurgery. The international award is also commonly referred to as the “Nobel Prize in Neurosurgery.”

Dr. Krisht, who will formally receive the Olivecrona medal next month in Sweden, sees patients from all 75 counties in Arkansas and around the world at the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, which is scheduled to open a new research and education center in June.
