Arkansas’ Golf History

by Michael Polzella

In June, NWA hosted the annual Walmart NW Arkansas Championship for the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Did you know the LPGA has been coming to the Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers every summer for annual championships since 2007?

Arkansas is no stranger to the golf scene. In 1915, country clubs from around the state formed the Arkansas State Golf Association. Currently, the ASGA has over 140 member clubs and 14,000 individual members.

In 2010, Golf Magazine listed the top five golf courses from around the state. The list names Stonebridge Meadows in Fayetteville as the best course in Arkansas.
