Every Thanksgiving weekend since 1936, duck calling professionals flock to Stuttgart, Ark., to participate in the popular World Championship Duck Calling Contest (WCDCC).
Participants qualify by winning a state or regional level in one of the 38 states with a Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce approved competition. Contestants perform the required hail call, feed call, mating call and comeback call in a 90 second routine to compete for the $15,000 prize package.
The WCDCC is part of the Wings Over The Prairie Festival. Entertaining festivities including pageants, gumbo cook-off and more begin Nov. 17 and continue through Nov. 26.
