The Power of Hydration

by

If food is our fuel, water is our oil, keeping everything lubricated and operating smoothly. While doctors tell us to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day, most of us just grab a cup when we’re thirsty.

But thirst is a more serious bodily warning than we realize. According to a study, “We don’t feel thirsty until we’ve already become one to two percent dehydrated, when we’re already feeling the cognitive effects.”

Don’t wait for your cognition to begin slipping; carry a large water bottle (24-36 oz) and down it at least twice daily to stay hydrated.
