Blood pressure is a measure of heart health. Blood pressure guidelines are set by the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. The guidelines recently changed, and now anything higher than 130/80 is considered too high.
There are ways to manage your blood pressure without medication:
Know what your blood pressure is. Talk to your doctor about how often your BP should be measured, if it is in a normal range.
Watch what you eat. Diet can impact blood pressure in many ways.
Exercise. Even an increase in steps can be a way to improve your heart health.
