A nonprofit is launching to boost parks and recreational opportunities in the state.
The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Arkansas plans to “support, protect and enhance” parks and recreational experiences in Arkansas.
“We are a conduit for private dollars to support outdoor projects that benefit the public,” said executive director, Suzanne Grobmyer. “We want to partner with like-minded donors, both people and businesses, as well as agencies and municipalities to push Arkansas to its full potential as a world-renowned leader in outdoor recreation and livability.”
The Walton Family Foundation provided a three-year $310,000 grant for initial support.
