Finding the right board member for your nonprofit can be daunting. Bring in people with different skills and ideas that represent your community.
Make sure they are there to safeguard the nonprofit’s mission, and take time to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. They should represent different industries that will guide your organization.
Instead of overloading the board, choose a number that is manageable. Look for individuals with experience, as well as some newcomers.
You will need their wisdom, work and wealth. So be sure to offer an orientation and board manual so they know what is expected.
Happy board hunting.
