If you’re in northwest Arkansas or headed that way, here are three off-the-beaten path events to check out.
1. Head to the rodeo. The 73rd Annual Rodeo of the Ozarks hits Springdale June 27-30. It’s one of the leading outdoor rodeos in the nation, with more than 500 cowboys and rough stock.
2. Get some culture. Opera in the Ozarks’ summer season kicks off June 22 at its mountainside venue, Inspiration Point in Eureka Springs.
3. Fireflies. The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks transforms into a magical woodland world for the 2018 Firefly Fling on July 21.
