Though 16 months away, the Little Rock mayoral election is already drawing significant attention after a candidate has emerged to challenge incumbent Mayor Mark Stodola. State Rep. Warwick Sabin is exploring a run for mayor. Stodola has also said he intends to seek re-election to the post.
Little Rock mayor was a part-time role until 2007, when voters made it full-time and gave the mayor additional responsibilities, including veto power and power to hire and fire the city manager and city attorney with approval by the city board of directors.
The mayoral election is Nov. 6, 2018.
