Remembering Don Soderquist’s Leadership Legacy

Don Soderquist, Wal-Mart’s former COO, passed away July 21 from post-heart surgery complications. His famous leadership skills were the foundation of Soderquist Leadership at JBU. Here are a few leadership concepts Soderquist made a priority in his lifestyle and teachings:

1. Values matter in everything done. Keep to your core values and make sure actions from the company and employees follow.
2. Be a servant leader. Give back to everyone you work with in any way possible.
3. Tell the story and believe in it. Live out the model and culture set by the company’s mission and values while being authentic.
