Applications have closed and people from across the country have thrown their hat in the ring to become Little Rock’s next police chief. The 57 applicants include 11 from Arkansas, with seven of those coming from Little Rock.

As the temperature continues to drop, a new beer garden and food truck venue promises to provide a summertime flare in downtown Little Rock. The Rail Yard, located in Little Rock’s East Village, officially opened for business on Nov. 15.

On Sept. 25, 1957, nine African-American students, later known as the Little Rock Nine, entered Little Rock Central High School, three years after the U.S. Supreme Court declared school racial segregation unconstitutional.
