Increased skepticism surrounding vaccines has led to a resurgence in mumps outbreaks in recent years, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) is leading the charge to prevent the epidemic from reaching our state.

Certifying MMR vaccine status with all team members, wearing specialized masks and keeping optimum hygiene practices are just a few ways that ACH treats an infected patient, while maintaining the safety of its other patients and staff.

Although ACH remains ready to spring into action, it points out that the most effective way to ensure a child’s protection during a potential outbreak is the two-MMR-dose vaccination.
