Not surprisingly, of the six Arkansas companies that made the Fortune 500, Walmart, with $500 billion in revenue during its last fiscal year, has topped the list for the sixth year in a row. They’ve made the list 14 times since 2002.
Other companies making up the list include Tyson Foods (80), Murphy USA (279), J.B. Hunt Transport Services (395), Dillard’s (439) and Windstream Holdings (474). Fort Smith-based logistics company ArcBest (763) and El Dorado’s Murphy Oil (902) made the Fortune 1000.
Fortune 500 companies comprise two-thirds of the country’s GDP. Rankings are based on company revenue.
