In 1888, the Washington Monument opened to the public, Ernest Thayer published the baseball anthem “Casey at the Bat” and the state of Arkansas was just turning 52 years old. That’s also when St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock and St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Hot Springs first opened their doors to care for residents in those growing communities.
From those early days as a 10-bed infirmary, the CHI St. Vincent group has grown alongside these communities to become one of the leading hospitals in the state and is now celebrating 130 years of ministry and service during Heritage Week.
