It took more than great-tasting ice cream for Sally Mengel to turn Loblolly Creamery into what it is today. Mengel and her mom, co-owner Laura Frankenstein, see their team as a family, with each individual working to give Little Rock its go-to ice cream shop.
With a diverse group of ice cream churners, pastry chefs, scoopers, truck drivers and managers, Mengel and the rest of the staff support one another in the pursuit of collective goals.
The family extends beyond the shop’s doors, as Loblolly proudly partners with Arkansas farms, nonprofits, breweries and artisan craft-food providers.
