Hiking trails abound near Little Rock and Emerald Park is an ideal spot for outdoor adventures, just west of the city. According to contributors on AllTrails.com, the 5.6-mile out-and-back Emerald Park Trail is a must.
The two-hour easy walk (or road bike) follows a bluff line along the North Little Rock side of the Arkansas River, where youll find gorgeous views of the water, an old quarry and the citys skyline. Most of the trail is paved and pretty flat, with some rocky spots, a couple steeper grades and a heart-stopping ledge.
Look out for clear quartz en route.
