Can we help float your boat? Ranging from leisurely floats to all-out Class IV rapids, Arkansas has a plethora of places for paddlers, and we’re sharing our faves.
Big Piney Creek has something for everyone, with water ranging from Class I-III. Probably the most well-known float is the Buffalo National River, which offers spectacular scenery along its 135 miles. The Cossatot River, on the other hand, is described as “probably the most challenging” and “the most difficult” whitewater stream in Arkansas. In fact, Cossatot is the Tula Native American tribe’s word for “skull crusher.” Bring a helmet.
