More than 300 Arkansans are waiting for an organ transplant. Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA) was established in 1987 as a nonprofit, independent organ procurement agency. Its mission is to facilitate providing organs and tissue for life-saving and life-enhancing transplantation.
The organization launched its new “Save 8. Donate.” campaign in September to encourage all Arkansans to register as donors. Ninety-five percent of adults in this country support organ donation, but only 54% are actually registered as donors, and one organ donor has the potential to save eight lives.
