While Arkansas may not be well known for its fall leaf-peeping season, the entire Natural State puts on an amazing display of reds, oranges and golds, all the way from the Ozarks traveling south through the Ouachitas and the Arkansas River Valley.
For drives with stupendous scenery, try Scenic 7 Byway, the state’s longest highway, or the twisty, turny Pig Trail Scenic Byway. If you’re in the mood for close-up viewing and a chance to commune with nature, try hiking the Yellow Rock Trail at Devil’s Den State Park or the North Rim Trail at Mount Magazine State Park.
