The Economic Impact of the Little Rock Marathon

by

This year, on March 4 and 5, the Little Rock Marathon will celebrate 15 years of “the race for every pace.”

Since its inception in 2003, the marathon has donated over $690,000 to Little Rock Parks and Recreation and has stimulated local business, as more than 127,000 individuals have participated in the annual event.

“Many are surprised to learn that 75 percent of participants are from out of the central Arkansas area,” says Alice Stewart, media director of the Little Rock Marathon. “We estimate an excess of $6 million for the Little Rock economy over the marathon weekend.”
