Social media “stories” are immersive mobile media experiences that are tappable, swipeable, rich content videos and images with text and graphic overlays delivered in quick bursts. Snapchat started it. Instagram copied it (and stole many of Snapchat’s users) and then Facebook implemented it.
Now Google has launched stories in its mobile search results for publishers involved in the early development of the format: CNN, Conde Nast and The Washington Post, to name a few. With the growing channels for sharing this type of content, it’s time to think about telling your brand’s daily story in a vertical, hand-held format.
