The mountains are calling, and I must go – so said American naturalist John Muir, founder of the Sierra Club.
If you hear that call like I do, check out the season-long Brevard Summer Music Festival while you are there, this year marking its 80th anniversary with the operatic world premiere of Falling Angel, the inaugural Jazz Institute, and the Dvořák in America Festival.
Featuring 80-plus concerts across multiple genres, many performed under the stars, the festival runs from June 24 through August 7. Best of all, nearly half of these concerts are free, and picnics are welcome.
