Startup Weekend is a program owned and managed by Techstars, an entrepreneurial support organization that operates around the globe. For the first time since 2015, a Startup Weekend was held in Arkansas.
Participants with backgrounds in business, design and development convened on a Friday, and in organized chaos, 60 individuals formed into 11 teams with 48 hours to push their business concept as far as possible before pitching in a Demo Day on Sunday evening.
In a stiff competition, first place was ModBot, an accessible, modular robotics kit that had already taken 72 preorders by the end of the weekend.
