Off the Rails: BMX Takes Tulsa

by

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum has announced that BMX will officially build a new indoor arena, world headquarters and hall of fame in Tulsa at the long-empty Evans Fintube industrial site in the Greenwood District, north of downtown. USA BMX is the main training facility for North American BMX cyclists who regularly compete in the X Games during the Olympics.

Funds from Vision Tulsa will help finance the project, which is expected to cost $15 million, with $11 million estimated revenue over six years. BMX hopes to be fully operational in time to host the Olympic trials in 2020.
