Perhaps no painter is more closely identified with North Carolina than Bob Timberlake. Although he received no formal art training, he is internationally acclaimed for his intricate watercolor paintings, many of them depicting rural landscapes.
From his first solo exhibition in Winston-Salem in 1970 to subsequent showings around the globe, Timberlake has garnered an enthusiastic following. His popularity spread further following the introduction of furniture, clothing and product lines bearing his name. There’s even a Bob Timberlake Inn at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock.
