The Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s new producing artistic director, John Miller-Stephany, gives us his take on what art means to the community.
“Art is really only important if it connects,” John Miller-Stephany said. He will begin his new role as the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s producing artistic director in mid-October.
Miller-Stephany has worked in several acclaimed theatres in cities such as New York City and Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1982, he won the Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre for his work at The Guthrie Theater.
He is excited to bring his knowledge and expertise to Little Rock through his work at The Rep.
“A part of (my) job is to educate and elevate, as well as entertain,” Miller-Stephany said.
