Be Pro Be Proud, based in Little Rock, is an initiative created by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce to encourage students to explore career opportunities that exist in trade industries in Arkansas.
“Parents have said the only way to get a ‘good’ job is to obtain a four-year college degree,” said Tifany Hamlin, executive director of Be Pro Be Proud. “There is a lot of stigma and stereotyping that surround our skilled professions, and that’s what Be Pro Be Proud specifically addresses. The skilled professions are exactly that – professional careers that are respectable, lucrative and in high demand.”
