Facebook Provides Virtual Reality to Arkansas Schools

by

Facebook has partnered with Arkansas to donate 500 virtual reality kits to 250 educational programs throughout the state. The Facebook TechStart Program aims to connect students in public high schools to technology through teaching tools.

The partnership stems from Governor Asa Hutchinson’s initiative ensuring all public high schools will offer computer science courses to upper level grades. The law made Arkansas the first state to begin requiring computer technology classes in public education.

The donation is valued over $1 million. The Department of Education will select schools to receive the kits with assistance from the Arkansas Public School Resource Center.
