CEO Fraud Email Scam Has Claimed Over $2 Billion

by

We see spam in our inbox every day. What if the next email you receive from your CEO is a fake? There is a new financial scheme called CEO Fraud, and it has already cost organizations over $2 billion.

CEO Fraud happens when someone impersonates one of your organization’s executives through an email asking you to wire money to a bank overseas. Once this happens, it is unlikely that you will see this money again.

These spoofed emails are rarely caught in the spam filter because the crooks take the time to understand your organization. Proper protocols can prevent this.
