This year’s “Inspire Inclusion” theme for International Women’s Day resonates with our work at the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) to support American jobs and aid women-owned businesses globally.
Women-run companies in the U.S. provide a 34% higher return on investment, yet only 5% of Fortune 500s are women-led. Despite women owning 40% of U.S. businesses, only 15% export. To inspire inclusion, we must provide greater access to education, financial services and other tools essential for success.
There is no shortcut to empowering women. The more we empower and include women, the more the world benefits.
