Tulsa startup to expand nationally

by The 100 Companies

After Trinity University college student Gavin Buchanan’s grandfather died after not taking medication as prescribed, he partnered with fellow student Andrew Aertker in 2018 to create a smart pill bottle that used technology to ensure medication is taken as prescribed. Aertker has also experienced issues with medication management after a cancer diagnosis.

PatchRX has a patient and pharmacy app, universal pill bottle cap and makes refills easy along with incentivizing patients to take medications on time.

The company has 80 employees and recently raised $8 million for a total investment of $15 million, which it will use to expand nationally.
