Ruby Bridges to Speak at Harding University

Ruby Bridges will speak at Harding University as a part of the American Studies Institute Distinguished Lecture Series on Feb. 2.

Bridges is the subject of Norman Rockwell’s 1964 painting, “The Problem We All Live With.”

“In our efforts to instill Christian values that improve relationships and dialogue across our communities, people like Bridges serve as examples of the difference each person can make no matter the circumstance,” said Jana Rucker, vice president of Harding University communications and marketing. “We felt including Bridges’ message in our ASI Distinguished Lecture Series speaker lineup would add tremendous value to this vital conversation.”
