Mother’s Day is over, but my gift is still to come. This will be the ninth year that my husband heads out with our two kids on a Memorial Day weekend adventure on the Buffalo National River, leaving me in kid-free bliss.
Jason and 10-20 other dads take off with kids of all ages and go “Lord of the Flies” for a few days. They float, camp, play 3-2-1 beep, shoot water guns and practically bathe in dirt. Here are three rules: 1) No moms. Whatsoever. 2) Bring your kids back home alive. 3) Make memories.
