Millions around the country participated in the Women’s March in January. More than 4,000 registered to participate in the demonstration outside the Arkansas State Capitol. The movement’s goal was to raise awareness on issues surrounding women’s rights.

Since, women locally have been advocating for changes through visits to congressional offices, letter writing campaigns and meetings to keep people involved and informed.

“I would encourage every woman to recognize that civic engagement extends beyond political engagement,” said Jessica Sabin, local political commentator. “It’s important to do what we can to support the institutions that serve to make our communities stronger.”
