MLK Day in Arkansas

by
Martin Luther King Jr.

Following Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s 2017 decision to move Robert E. Lee Day to October, Martin Luther King Jr. will continue to get the sole recognition he deserves on Jan. 21. There will be no shortage of celebratory events in Arkansas, beginning with the Annual MLK Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on the campus of Shorter College in North Little Rock.

The sold-out gathering will also include a performance by gospel artist Melvin Williams. Elsewhere, Philander Smith College in Little Rock will host a guided bus tour as well as a national screening of “Hope & Fury: MLK, The Movement and The Media.”
