October is National Manufacturing Month, a time to celebrate Arkansas products and the workers who make them. Unlike your father’s factory job, today’s manufacturing jobs offer higher pay, a better standard of living and more export potential in a high-tech environment.

However, a recent study found there is a growing skills gap between the talent these manufacturers need and the talent available. U.S. manufacturers need to fill almost 3.5 million jobs, but more than half of those could go unfilled.

See how Arkansas’ leaders are creating solutions to attract talent and raise the state’s per capita income.
